Xbox Cloud Gaming Coming to LG Smart TVs in 2024

Microsoft and LG have announced an exciting partnership to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming directly to select LG Smart TVs later this year. This integration will enable Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream games from the extensive Xbox Game Pass library and even play select titles they already own, all through the LG Gaming Portal.

Game Streaming Without a Console
With this partnership, LG Smart TVs will provide users with access to high-quality Xbox gaming experiences without the need for a physical console. By simply pairing a compatible Bluetooth controller, players will be able to dive into hundreds of titles, from AAA blockbusters to indie gems, directly on their TVs via Xbox Cloud Gaming.

"By expanding Xbox Cloud Gaming to LG Smart TVs, we’re making gaming even more accessible to players around the world," said Catherine Gluckstein, VP of Xbox Cloud Gaming. "This partnership brings Xbox’s unmatched library of games to millions of homes, offering seamless, console-free gaming experiences."

LG Gaming Portal Integration
The service will be integrated into LG’s Gaming Portal, an interface designed to enhance the gaming experience on LG Smart TVs. It will support Xbox Cloud Gaming alongside other gaming apps, offering a centralized hub for all things gaming.

Specific models of LG TVs that will support the feature, along with country-by-country availability, are set to be disclosed in the coming months. However, LG has confirmed that the feature will be rolled out on select 2023 and 2024 OLED and NanoCell models, which are already popular among gamers for their superior picture quality and low input lag.

Game Pass Ultimate: A Gateway to Cloud Gaming
Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be able to enjoy the full benefits of Xbox Cloud Gaming, including:

  • Access to the Xbox Game Pass library, featuring hundreds of titles across genres.
  • The ability to stream games across devices, with progress syncing seamlessly between consoles, PCs, and TVs.
  • The inclusion of new releases from Xbox Game Studios on launch day.

Players who own supported digital titles outside the Game Pass library will also be able to stream these games via the service, further expanding their gaming options.

A Step Forward in Gaming Accessibility
This move reflects Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to making gaming more accessible. By integrating Xbox Cloud Gaming into LG Smart TVs, Microsoft is eliminating hardware barriers and bringing console-quality gaming to more players worldwide.

For LG, the partnership reinforces its position as a leader in gaming-focused TV technology. "Our mission is to provide the ultimate gaming experience," said Jang Ik-hwan, LG’s Senior VP of Home Entertainment. "By partnering with Xbox, we’re giving our customers access to an incredible library of games, right from their TVs."

The Future of Cloud Gaming
As cloud gaming continues to grow in popularity, partnerships like this are set to shape the future of gaming. By making high-quality gaming more accessible and convenient, Microsoft and LG are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the gaming ecosystem.

With more details expected to be announced soon, gamers worldwide are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to experience Xbox Cloud Gaming on LG Smart TVs. This collaboration is yet another step in Microsoft’s vision of bringing gaming to everyone, everywhere.
